The Monday Mend

No more "pile of shame" in the corner of your bedroom.
Let’s get your stitch together.

The Monday Mend

Let’s be honest: Your "mending pile" has its own zip code by now. That favorite pair of jeans has a split seam, your designer blazer is missing a button, and you’re currently using a safety pin to hold your life together.

Stop it. You’re better than that, and your clothes deserve a second chance.

At The Tangled Thread, we believe in a sustainable wardrobe. Fast fashion wants you to throw that garment away and buy a new one. We want you to fix it. Whether you want us to do the work or you want to learn the skill yourself, The Monday Mend is your monthly solution for high-quality, professional garment care in Salt Lake County.

How to Join Us - Select Mondays Each Month

We open our doors specifically for mending on select Mondays each month from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. To ensure every garment gets the attention it deserves, appointments are strictly required.

Summer Dates:
June 8 & June 22, July 13 & July 20, Aug 10 & Aug 17

The Mending Menu: Fair Pricing for Real Life

We specialize in the "everyday fix." No hidden fees, just honest work.

  • Seam Tears: Closing "smiles" in underarms or side seams. $10-$15

  • Fasteners: Replacing flat/shank buttons, snaps, hook & eye, or metal clothing labels. $3-$7

  • Hems: Restitching fallen hems (no, we aren't using iron-on tape) $10-$15

  • Basic Patches: Functional denim or woven fabric repairs. $5-$20

THE BOUNDARY (Please Read): We are here for the "everyday fix." We do not do formal tailoring. If you have a wedding gown, a three-piece power suit, or a complex prom dress, we are not your shop. We focus on basic, inexpensive, average repairs to keep your daily wardrobe in the game.

Choose Your Experience:
  • Drop & Dash (Service): Short on time? Hand over your basic repairs. I’ll fix them using professional-grade tools (yes, the good scissors) while you get back to your life.

  • Stay & Stitch (Educational): Want to be self-sufficient? I’ll provide the table space, the high-quality needles & threads, and the expert guidance. You do the work; we ensure you do it right.

Want to Go Deeper? Join Our Sashiko Workshops

If you want to turn your repairs into art, join us for our Sashiko & Visible Mending Workshops on the last Thursday of every month. Learn the traditional Japanese art of functional embroidery to strengthen and beautify your clothing.
